Glatt Kosher, Chassidishe Shechita
Our meat is not
just kosher, and it is not just glatt kosher, it is glatt kosher, chassidishe
shechita. This designation means that the rabbi who actually performed the
ritual slaughter of the animal, the rabbi who actually performed the internal
inspection of the slaughtered animal to confirm it was glatt (which means
perfectly healthy by a biblical definition) and the rabbi who supervised the
ritual soaking and salting, were themselves Chassidic Jews.
We use
chassidishe shechita meat and poultry because we feel the Chassidic supervision
is more reliable. Our thinking is that a rabbi who demonstrates that he follows
every Jewish law and custom, in the smallest detail, in his personal life, will
likewise pay attention to even the smallest detail when he discharges his
responsibility to prepare ritually proper meat and poultry for the
community.
